Job summary

Florida Commercial Care, Inc. is seeking an Irrigation Technician to install, inspect, and repair irrigation systems, monitor installations, test start-ups, and document issues.

The role requires at least 1 year of hands-on irrigation experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently in hot conditions in New York. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of productive experience in the installation, inspection, and repair of irrigation systems.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Good knowledge of trenchers, multi-meters, wire locators, ditchers and pipe sizing are also essential.
• Eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and testing new installations, troubleshoot and repair problems, observe pipe and valve placements, and evaluate start-ups, and overall operation of the irrigation system.
• Conducting and recording detailed inspections and plan/execute upgrades of client systems.
• Able to pre-fabricate sub-assemblies as per sample provided by Irrigation Manager
• Able to assist trenching/ digging operator if/when needed
• Understand how to cut/glue lateral line pipe/fitting, cut and assemble drip tubing/fitting
• Capable of hand back filling
• Ability to work independently with strong time management and problem-solving skills

Job description

An Irrigation Technician is able to foresee potential problems and have the specialty skills needed to solve them. Careful planning and the ability to anticipate issues are qualities which Florida Commercial Care, particularly value.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitoring and testing new installations, troubleshoot and repair problems, observe pipe and valve placements, and evaluate start-ups, and overall operation of the irrigation system.
• Conducting and recording detailed inspections and plan/execute upgrades of client systems.
• Able to pre-fabricate sub-assemblies as per sample provided by Irrigation Manager
• Able to assist trenching/ digging operator if/when needed
• Understand how to cut/glue lateral line pipe/fitting, cut and assemble drip tubing/fitting

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work in extreme conditions – temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit
• Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time
• Ability to load/unload trailer (up to 50 lbs.)
• Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day
• Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic
• Work near or about natural bodies of water
• Work 8 hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (some overtime/weekend work required)
