Job summary

Sperber Companies in Martinez, CA is seeking an Irrigation Specialist to perform irrigation repairs and related field duties under supervision. You will diagnose problems, locate dig sites, and assist in system checks to ensure efficient water use.

The role requires irrigation experience, a valid driver's license, and good communication. Preference is for candidates with landscape maintenance exposure and the ability to read industry terminology. Full-time with weekly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Able to diagnose irrigation equipment problems.
• Able to excavate with skill and know where to dig.
• Communicate using industry terms and follow diagnostic instructions.
• Program irrigation controllers (Irritrol MC series, MC+A, MC+B, Dial A/B, Rainmaster Centar and Evolution).
• Knowledge of irrigation design, pipe classes, valve identification incl. Hardie 100, Weathermatic, Rainbird DV series.
• Capable of head identification: Hunter PGP, PGH, I series, Toro 570, Rainbird 1800.
• Nozzle identification and usage.
• Knowledge of hydraulics: valve size, flow, PSI effects.
• Assist in system checks and repairs for proper coverage and efficiency.
• Assist in repairs of large irrigation breaks, main lines and shorts in controllers.

Responsibilities

• Produce irrigation repairs and incidental irrigation work as directed.
• Diagnose equipment problems accurately and safely.
• Excavate and locate digging spots as needed.
• Communicate with team using industry terms and follow guidance from senior staff.
• Assist in repairs of large irrigation breaks and system upgrades.
• Support in checks to ensure proper coverage and water efficiency.
