Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation is seeking an experienced ironworker to join our field team in Norwalk, CT. You will safely position and join steel girders, columns and other structural members to form complete frameworks in accordance with plans and safety requirements.

You must read blueprints, work at heights, and operate hoisting equipment with proper signaling. NCCER certification is a plus; strong teamwork and self-motivation are essential to thrive on our safety-first projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in layout, connection and rigging.
• Ability to work at all heights.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret symbols on plans.
• Rigging knowledge including hand signals and gear inspection.
• NCCER certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all Safety policies and procedures and promote Safety as a core value.
• Read specifications and blueprints to determine material quantities and sizes.
• Set up hoisting equipment and hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place.
• Verify alignment and plumbing of steel structures and make corrections as needed.
• Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts following blueprints using fasteners.
