Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks an Ironworker Helper for an on-site project in Stillwater, OK. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3 months.

Responsibilities include assisting with installation, maintenance and operation of instruments and measuring devices, materials handling, and working from scaffolds or ladders. Travel may be required; strong safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication required.
• Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observe SIC safety and quality processes at all times.

• Load, transport, unload and furnish experienced craft worker with materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
• Maintain clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
• Work from scaffolding, ladders or other structures.
• Perform work overhead, at heights, beneath structures, and from various positions as required by working conditions.
• Lift and carry objects of varying weights.
• Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
• Perform minor maintenance and cleaning activities of site, tools and equipment.
• Verbally communicate directions from craft supervisors and respond to questions from managers and fellow workers.
• Significant travel may be required.
• Perform other duties as required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, maintaining and operating all instruments and measuring devices needed for functional systems.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds.
• Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as, confined spaces.
• Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position.
• Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
• Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in workboats, and working in awkward body positions.

Work Environment

• Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions.
