Job summary

Sundt Enterprise is seeking a skilled ironworker to plan, lay out and perform all types of structural steel erection and fabrication in accordance with plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Work in coordination with other trades as directed by supervision.

The ideal candidate will read drawings, understand safety and quality standards, and communicate effectively. Expect heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, long shifts in varying temperatures, and a commitment to producing high-quality

Qualifications

• Must read and understand drawings, specs, safety and quality standards, and use relevant trade tools.
• Minimum industry experience: 3+ years (level I) to 6+ years (Sr) in ironworker field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lay out all types of structural steel erection and fabrication per plans and codes.
• Work with other trades as directed by supervision and maintain safety standards.
• Inspect work and correct deficiencies, ensuring conformity to specs.
• Lift and move heavy items up to 50 pounds while maintaining form and safety.
• Mitigate waste, improve methods, and learn from others on site.
• Maintain positive relationships within the crew and contribute to productivity.
• Produce high-quality work safely and efficiently at all times.
• Provide feedback to ensure tools, materials, and information are available.
• Follow directions from foreman and higher-skilled workers.

Job Summary

Plan, lay-out and perform all types of structural steel erection and fabrication work in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman.

• 9. Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment and information is available for the work.

Minimum Job Requirements

• 1. Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards and effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work.
• 2. Must have a minimum of three years (level I), four years (level II), five years (level Ill) and six plus years (level Sr.) experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry and have an in-depth understanding of the ironworker trade.
• 3. Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• 1. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
• 2. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
• 3. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
• 4. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
• 5. Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
• 6. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
• 7. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
• 8. Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
• 9. Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis
• 10. Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
