Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking a Lead Construction Supervisor to guide daily production and ensure alignment with project plans, codes, and safety standards. You will supervise crews, coordinate with project management, and maintain records of progress, safety and costs on site.

Responsibilities include developing weekly schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, enforcing safety rules, and communicating plans to leadmen and crews while managing within budget.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent with previous years of field experience.
• Ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge and skill to perform all essential functions.
• Ability to perform task planning to safely carry out all aspects of work and train safety practices.
• Working knowledge of scheduling, material control, unit manhour performance, estimating fundamentals and job cost management systems.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively.
• Must be a good communicator, motivator, and team player.

• Maintain accurate reporting records including job quantities, productivity rates, time sheets and daily management reports.
• May assist in developing a weekly schedule and in carrying out sequence of activities for assigned crew.
• Responsible for timely completion of work within estimated costs while maintaining quality.
• Responsible for the safety of those on the crew and will conduct operations according to safety rules.
• Develop and maintain crew attitude by conducting toolbox meetings and communicating safety concerns, plans and schedules.
• Monitor compliance by all employees with company policies.
• Continuously check the work of crew and adjust the work or plan and schedule as required.
• Prioritize workload and operate within a defined budget.

• Monitor compliance by all employees under his/her supervision with all Company policies.

Requirements

• The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
• Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions.
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required.
• May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
• Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment.
• May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site.
• Must have required tools.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required.
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, fit for duty medical and background check.
