Gleeson Constructors & Engineers, L.L.C. in Arkansas seeks a skilled ironworker to read blueprints, set up hoisting, position girders, and weld structural steel on project sites.

Qualifications

• Comfortable lifting up to 75 lbs and performing physically demanding tasks.
• Knowledge of rigging, load charts and crane signaling.

Responsibilities

• Read specs and blueprints to determine material locations, quantities, and sizes.
• Unload and stack iron/steel for sling lifts.
• Signal crane operators for lifting and placement.
• Set up hoisting equipment to position girders and structure.
• Cut, bend, and weld using shears, torches, and welding tools.
• Align iron and steel using tag lines, plumb bobs, lasers, and levels.
• Connect iron/steel with bolts, wire, or weld.
• Install metal decking on building projects.
• Knowledge of rigging and load charts.

General Responsibilities

• Read specifications and follow blueprints, sketches, and other instructions to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Unload and stack fabricated iron and steel so that it can be lifted with slings.
• Signal crane operators who lift and position structural reinforcing iron and steel.
• Set up hoisting equipment to safely position and unite steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural frameworks.
• Use shears, rod-bending machines, torches, hand tools, and welding equipment to cut, bend, and weld the structural and reinforcing iron and steel.
• Align structural and reinforcing iron and steel vertically and horizontally, using tag lines, plumb bobs, lasers, and levels and make corrections to erected structures as needed.
• Connect iron and steel with bolts, wire, or weld.
• Install metal decking used in building construction.
• Knowledge of rigging and load charts.

Requirements

• Must have a current Welding Certificate.
