Job summary

Benton Foundry, Inc. in North Central Pennsylvania is seeking motivated individuals to join the Melt Department as an Iron Pourer.

This hands-on role involves pouring molten iron into molds on automated lines and operating overhead monorail and ladle systems, while ensuring metal quality and safety compliance. No prior foundry experience is required as training is provided; the position offers a day shift with overtime as needed, plus benefits such as health insurance, a 401(k), paid holidays

Qualifications

• Safety-focused in an industrial setting to protect yourself and teammates.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new processes.
• Reliable with consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Foundry or heavy manufacturing experience is preferred, but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Safely pour molten iron from ladles into molds on automated molding lines.
• Operate and work with overhead monorail and ladle systems.
• Monitor iron temperature and ensure compliance with job specifications.
• Remove slag and impurities to maintain metal quality.
• Add alloys and materials according to production requirements.
• Maintain consistent metal flow to produce sound, defect-free castings.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE at all times.
• Work closely with Melt Department and production teams to maintain efficiency.
