Responsibilities

• Provides operational leadership, regulatory oversight, and staff supervision for the IRB office.
• Maintains knowledge on federal, state, and local regulations related to protections of human subjects in research.
• Develops training materials for IRB staff, Board members, and investigators.
• Leads IRB office staff and fosters a collaborative environment.
• Manages day-to-day IRB office operations and timely review of studies, amendments, continuing reviews, reportable events, and reliance requests.
• Reviews complex protocols for regulatory and ethical compliance and communicates outcomes to Board and leadership.
• Prepares IRB meeting agendas, moderates meetings, and documents decisions in minutes.
