Job summary

Diversified Trust is seeking an IRA Specialist to oversee institution-wide IRA administration and ensure accurate, compliant account handling across openings, transfers, distributions and tax reporting.

You will collaborate with client service teams, custodians and internal partners to maintain records, monitor NMDs, support audits and drive process improvements while managing multiple priorities in a client-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience working with IRAs, trust operations, retirement account administration, wealth management, banking or related field.
  • Strong understanding of IRA regulations, distributions, contribution rules, and account maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and industry technology platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review IRA accounts throughout the account lifecycle, including openings, transfers, beneficiary updates, distributions and tax reporting.
  • Review new IRA account documentation for completeness, proper account coding and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor required minimum distributions (RMDs), including annual review, quality control, client notification support and resolution of missing or incomplete data.
  • Review IRA transactions and account activity to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, custodial requirements and firm policies.
  • Maintain accurate account records, documentation, and supporting materials related to IRA administration and RMD determinations.
  • Work closely with client service teams, fiduciary services, operations, custodians and external partners to address IRA-related requests and resolve account issues.
  • Track outstanding documentation and follow up with appropriate parties to ensure timely account maintenance and processing.
  • Support internal audits, operational reviews, compliance-related testing, and regulatory reporting requirements associated with IRA administration.
  • Identify opportunities to improve IRA administration processes and enhance client experience.
  • Support special projects and initiatives related to retirement account administration.

Job description
