Job summary

Munson Healthcare is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) to care for patients undergoing image-guided procedures. The IR Tech will operate C-arm and fluoroscopy equipment, assist physicians, nurses, and staff, and participate in a rotating on-call schedule requiring hospital presence within 30 minutes.

Responsibilities include imaging across multiple areas, maintaining patient safety and privacy, and ensuring smooth workflow with PACS transfers and room readiness.

Qualifications

• ARRT eligibility required by hire; pass within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 2 years’ Staff Technologist experience preferred.
• Experience in radiology subspecialties desirable (e.g., CT, MRI, Ultrasound).
• Working knowledge of operating a C-arm.
• Maintains BLS certification with annual renewal.

• Provide Comprehensive Imaging Support across multiple areas including Pain Clinic, Neuro IR, IR, and OR Vascular Suite.
• Perform imaging procedures, assist with sterile techniques, position patients, and operate C-arms and radiographic equipment.
• Deliver safe, courteous, high-quality patient care from arrival to discharge; follow safety protocols and infection control standards.
• Coordinate procedures with other departments and physician schedules; manage room stock and supplies; assist with image review and PACS transfers.
• Adhere to hospital and Radiology Department dress policies; maintain organized workspaces; perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Description

A Day inthe Life

Functions as an integral part of the Interventional radiology team by caring for patients undergoing image-guided procedures. The Interventional Technologist (IR Tech) will be responsible for performing radiological and technical skills using the C-arm and other fluoroscopy equipment to demonstrate portions of the human anatomy on the fluoroscopic screen for diagnostic and interventional purposes. The IR Tech will also provide assistance to physicians, registered nurses and other professionals. The IR Tech must be able to take call on weeknights, weekends, and holidays on a rotational team and be at the hospital within 30 minutes.

• Provide Comprehensive Imaging Support: Work in multiple areas—including the Pain Clinic, Multi-Purpose Room, Neuro IR, IR, and OR Vascular Suite—performing imaging procedures, assisting providers with sterile techniques, positioning patients, and operating C-arms and radiographic equipment.
• Ensure Patient Care & Safety: Deliver safe, courteous, and high-quality patient care from arrival to discharge; follow all safety protocols, infection control standards, and emergency response procedures while protecting patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Operate and Maintain Equipment: Select proper technical factors, handle imaging equipment responsibly, maintain sterile and contamination-free environments, prepare exam rooms, report equipment issues, and assist with daily C-arm operations.
• Manage Workflow & Department Coordination: Coordinate procedures with other departments and physician schedules, maintain room stock and supplies, manage image review and PACS transfers, and perform clerical tasks as needed.
• Uphold Professional Standards: Adhere to hospital and Radiology Department dress policies, maintain organized workspaces, follow hospital policies and procedures, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What’s Required

• Must be eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire and pass within 30 days of hire.
• At least 2 years’ previous experience as a Staff Technologist is preferred.
• Previous experience in any Radiology subspecialty desirable, such as Special Procedures, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, CT, or Ultrasound.
• Working knowledge of operating a C-arm.
• Maintains BLS certification with annual renewal.

Additional Information

Schedule:Day shift 7:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday, weekend call rotation

$27,000 SIGN ON BONUS
