Qualifications

The IR Special Procedures Technologist performs advanced imaging procedures, including fluoroscopy and interventional radiology, assisting in the diagnosing and treating patients. Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO

Department: Interventional Radiology

Status: Full -Time - 40 hours/week

Shift: Days

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program and completion of required clinical hours or completion of RCIS training certification.

Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience

Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

Certification: AART (R) OR RCIS; Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred Qualifications

• Expert-level understanding of imaging technologies and their respective applications, protocols, and limitations.
• Ability to mentor and train less experienced technologists, guiding them through procedures, ensuring adherence to protocols, and providing feedback for improvement.
• Proficiency in operating imaging equipment and using imaging software to acquire high-quality diagnostic images.
• Skilled in effectively communicating with patients, explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and providing emotional support.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively within a healthcare team, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
