Job summary

Hackensack Radiology Group (HRG) and Vista Vascular & Interventional Specialists seek a fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologist to join our IR/Diagnostic hybrid practice. The IR case mix includes oncologic therapies, embolizations, biopsies, UFE, PAE, GAE, HAE, and multi-modality imaging support across three hospitals.

Daytime diagnostic shifts are on-site with some remote coverage; IR call is shared within the section.

• Fellowship training in vascular and interventional radiology required.
• ABR certification or eligibility is required.
• New Jersey medical license (or eligibility) is required.

Job description

Hackensack Radiology Group (HRG) and Vista Vascular & Interventional Specialists

are seeking a fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologist to join a progressive IR section in our IR/Diagnostic hybrid position

The IR case mix includes a robust Interventional Oncology practice including liver directed therapies (Resin Y90, Glass Y90, cTACE, DEB TACE, Ablation), bone and kidney embolization and ablation, US and CT guided biopsies and venous access. We have a busy GI/GU intervention practice, perform UFE, PAE, GAE, HAE, Varicocele and pelvic congestion embolization, kyphoplasty, and perform the full complement of fluoro, CT and US guided cases. We perform trauma embolization and TIPS/BRTO at our largest site. The IR section hosts a monthly Interventional Oncology conference and participates in several weekly multidisciplinary tumor boards. Our IR physician extenders help streamline our inpatient and outpatient consults, follow ups, informed consents and minor procedures. IR call coverage is shared equally within the section. We are actively building our outpatient IR practice and intend open an OBL in the next 18 months to accommodate our IR growth. With our external partnerships, our IR physicians currently perform embolization procedures at local IR OBLs.

The diagnostic shifts help with coverage for 3 hospitals including ER and inpatient cases. Daytime diagnostic shifts are a mix of on-site and remote shifts. Lower complexity IR cases are performed at the smaller hospitals. Off-hours shifts are remote. We have a robust Diagnostic Imaging workflow orchestrator that helps distribute imaging studies to radiologists across the entire enterprise based on their diagnostic capabilities.

HRG and Hackensack University Medical Center will be welcoming the inaugural class of Diagnostic Radiology R1 Residents in July 2027. Our IR physicians will help train the Radiology Residents during their IR rotations.

HRG services 3 acute-care hospitals, including one level I trauma center

HRG supports 25-30 hospital-based Multidisciplinary conferences per month

Full time position, including weekend at-home call. Partnership-track position available.
