Job summary

Axon is hiring an IQC Inspector at the Phoenix, AZ site. You will perform incoming quality inspections on raw materials and subassemblies using metrology tools, ensuring conformance to specs and maintaining traceable records.

The role reports to the Sr Supervisor, Quality Engineering and requires strong accuracy, documentation, and problem‑solving in a fast‑paced environment. Onsite position with collaboration across Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant quality‑inspection experience.
  • Experience performing quality‑control inspections using metrology equipment, hand tools, gauges, microscopes, or similar measurement devices.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply specifications, inspection criteria, control limits, and quality documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, documentation discipline, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Basic computer and software skills, with the ability to enter, maintain, and retrieve inspection data in electronic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming quality‑control inspections on raw materials, bulk intermediates, subassemblies, and assemblies in accordance with approved inspection plans, specifications, and control limits.
  • Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using metrology equipment, hand tools, microscopes, and other inspection instruments.
  • Interpret inspection results, compare findings against established acceptance criteria, and determine or recommend whether materials are appropriate for release.
  • Document inspection results accurately in applicable quality and process systems, maintaining complete and traceable records.
  • Identify, document, and verify calibration status for inspection and laboratory equipment and support equipment validation, maintenance, and calibration activities as needed.
  • Evaluate material and product quality trends and support problem‑solving activities to address recurring quality issues.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and compliant inspection environment, including adherence to sanitation, safety, and quality procedures.
  • Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to support material disposition, process improvement, and production readiness.
  • Follow required personal protective equipment and safety practices in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.

Your Impact

As an IQC Inspector, you will help ensure the quality and reliability of materials and components used in Axon products. You will perform incoming quality inspections on raw materials, bulk intermediates, subassemblies, and assemblies, using metrology equipment, hand tools, and quality systems to verify conformance to established specifications. This hands‑on role is critical to identifying issues early, maintaining high quality standards, and supporting reliable production operations.

What You'll Do

Location: Onsite at our Phoenix, AZ office

Reports to: Sr Supervisor, Quality Engineering

What You Bring
  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant quality‑inspection experience.
  • Experience performing quality‑control inspections using metrology equipment, hand tools, gauges, microscopes, or similar measurement devices.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply specifications, inspection criteria, control limits, and quality documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, documentation discipline, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Basic computer and software skills, with the ability to enter, maintain, and retrieve inspection data in electronic systems.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse or manufacturing environment and safely perform physical requirements, including prolonged standing, sitting, bending, using hands to handle tools and materials, lifting up to 25 pounds, and differentiating colors.
  • Knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 and/or IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 standards is preferred.
  • Experience operating a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is preferred.
