Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Marlborough, MA is seeking an experienced Program Manager / Test Engineering Lead to guide cross-functional teams from requirements through deployment, overseeing RF/analog/digital/test systems and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires a STEM degree with 8+ years in engineering, hands-on test hardware/software, and ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. On-site training and collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and customers are key aspects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 5+ years.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Secret clearance required.
  • Experience in engineering labs and transitioning automated test solutions to production.
  • Experience delivering hardware/software solutions and on-site operator training.
  • Experience in leadership roles, managing multi-disciplinary teams through programs.

What You Will Do
  • Lead a cross-functional team through program execution, ensuring alignment with technical, schedule, and cost objectives.
  • Develop test hardware and software from requirements definition through build, integration, and deployment to manufacturing or customer facilities.
  • Oversee the design, support, and integration of test solutions across multiple disciplines, including RF, analog, digital, firmware, and systems integration.
  • Support proposal and bidding activities to drive innovation and business growth.
  • Create and manage program schedules, track progress, and address deviations from planned milestones.
  • Provide on-site training and troubleshooting support for operators and manufacturing teams.
  • Prepare and deliver clear technical presentations and documentation, including design reviews and project status updates.
  • Ensure compliance with project budget, schedule, and performance commitments.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
What You Will Learn

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance is required.
  • Experience in engineering laboratory environments and transitioning automated test solutions to production.
  • Experience delivering hardware and software solutions, including providing on-site training for operators.
  • Experience in leadership roles, managing multi-disciplinary teams through program execution.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with National Instruments’ software tools, including TestStand, LabVIEW, and/or LabWindows (CVI).
  • Experience with hardware station design, including rack instrumentation, PXIe/MXI, and VME application development.
  • Experience in test hardware and software design for digital, RF, and/or power supply systems.
  • Familiarity with computer architecture, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) equipment, interconnects/interfaces, and standard communication protocols.
  • Proposal and bidding experience to support technology development and business growth.
  • Technical writing experience, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Visio.
  • Knowledge of engineering processes, including CMMI and Six Sigma methodologies

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
