Job summary

Green Thumb is seeking an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Technician for our cultivation team. The role supports horticulture and pest-management needs while complying with laws, policies, and guidelines.

Ideal candidates have nursery, horticulture, entomology, or plant pathology backgrounds and are self-motivated and detail-oriented. Responsibilities include pest inspection, IPM strategy development, safe application of controls, and meticulous record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Requires background in horticulture/nursery, entomology, or plant pathology.
• Pesticide Applicator Certification required within 90 days of employment.
• Highly organized with obsessive attention to detail.
• Experience with Excel, data collection and entry.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and product labels.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently or in teams.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor pest activity in diverse environments.
• Identify pests and assess infestation levels using knowledge and tools.
• Develop and implement IPM strategies based on pest biology and site factors.
• Apply cultural, mechanical, biological, and chemical controls with safety in mind.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, treatments, and trends.
• Collaborate with Supervisors and team for consistent pest management.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment for pest control and monitoring.
• Follow PPE requirements and safety protocols.
