Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry, ecology, ecotoxicology, engineering, entomology, environmental chemistry, environmental toxicology, land management, pest management, or toxicology.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a broad range of IPM tactics including biological, cultural, physical, mechanical, and chemical controls.
  • Skills in strategic planning, organizational change management, and implementing programs across a large organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of IPM principles, pesticide regulations, and application methods across jurisdictions.
  • Strong analytical and research skills for evaluating materials and needs.
  • Ability to write on technical subjects for lay audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design and update educational materials on IPM, UC policy, pesticide safety, and reduced pesticide strategies in multiple formats.
  • Support online IPM course development and training initiatives.
  • Deliver customized IPM training for UC staff on practices and policy requirements.
  • Organize and oversee workshops on pesticide topics and promotions.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and design assessments.
  • Provide guidance to develop a centralized Pesticide Management technology solution for UC locations.
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to define feature requirements and workflows for pesticide applications.
  • Ensure compliance with California pesticide use laws in the technology solution.
