Job summary

Foley & Lardner LLP in Washington D.C. is looking for an IP Support Analyst to provide crucial clerical and technical support to the IP Docketing and Transfer departments. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the IP annuity payment process flows smoothly. A high school diploma and at least three years of relevant experience are required, along with knowledge of IP Docketing systems.

Position Summary

The IP Support Analyst will provide clerical and technical support to the IP Docketing and Transfer departments as well as the IP Annuity Analysts. The role involves assisting with special projects such as mass‑updating of case records in the IP docketing system, collaborating with the IP Support Systems Administrator to resolve technical issues, and coordinating with IP Annuity Analysts, attorneys, and the firm’s vendor Clarivate to ensure the annuity payment process runs smoothly. The IP Support Analyst must be a self‑starter, able to work independently, make practical decisions, problem‑solve, and possess proficient oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with attorneys and all levels of business professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical and technical support to the docketing department, transfer department, and IP Annuity Analysts
  • Assist the IP Support Systems Administrator in investigating technical issues regarding the docketing department’s systems and answering system‑related questions from the docketing and transfer staff
  • Update the docketing system where more than twenty cases need to be updated for one particular item
  • Update the docketing system with attorney changes and other bibliographic information regarding cases
  • Assist with overflow of auditing newly transferred‑in cases and other transfer‑related assignments
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with attorneys and staff, including answering annuity and system‑related questions
  • Resolve annuity inaccuracies and other associated requests where applicable
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of three (3) years intellectual property background in an office environment performing clerical and technical work required
  • Must have a working knowledge of IP Docketing systems and software
  • Experience with large IP docketing and transfer projects strongly preferred
Salary Range

Washington D.C. – $76,700 to $107,400
