Job summary

The Allen Institute is seeking an Intellectual Property Paralegal II to manage and protect its IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and related agreements. You will docket, prosecute, and administer the portfolio while coordinating with inventors, researchers, and outside counsel.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years IP experience, a paralegal credential, and familiarity with IP management systems.

Qualifications

Requires an associate/bachelor degree or paralegal certification with IP experience.
Minimum of five years specialized IP experience including patent/trademark portfolio management.
Experience supporting U.S. and international patent prosecution.
Experience managing docketing systems and critical filing deadlines.
Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

Maintain IP portfolio with patents, trademarks, copyrights, and related agreements.
Coordinate domestic and international IP prosecution activities.
Monitor and manage IP deadlines, filings, renewals, and maintenance.
Maintain IP records, databases, and portfolio information with high accuracy.
Provide IP compliance reporting and governance support.
Support IP-related agreements, transactions, and portfolio administration.
Generate portfolio metrics and status reporting for legal/business decisions.
Collaborate with inventors, researchers, and external counsel.
Develop and refine IP processes and best practices.
Assist with IP audits, reviews, and strategic initiatives.
