Job summary

Optimum is seeking an IP Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain high-capacity networks across regional ISP infrastructures. The role focuses on OSPF/ISIS/BGP, MPLS-TE, QoS, IPv4/IPv6, and scalable architectures with Cisco/Nokia gear.

You will assess equipment, validate software, and collaborate with regions to ensure SLA-driven performance and reliability, including on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of related experience.
• CCNP required; CCIE plus.
• Experience in Service Provider/ISP environments.
• Experience with IPv4 and IPv6, MPLS-TE, and traffic engineering.
• Experience writing engineering guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement IP Backbone architectures for ISP and commercial services (BGP, OSPF, RSVP, LDP, QoS).
• Create test plans; validate functionality and performance for metro, regional, and backbone IP networks.
• Coordinate with regional teams to ensure network availability and SLA adherence.
• Provide escalation from NOC for critical network incidents and outages.
• Define procedures for installation, maintenance, and removal of network equipment.
