Job summary

Beacon AI in San Carlos, CA is seeking an iOS Software Engineer to join our mobile team and help build high-impact iPad-focused applications for our flight safety platform. You will work with senior engineers and designers to implement features and ensure reliability in safety-critical contexts.

You will develop using Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit, optimize performance for large data sets, and integrate with location services, maps, and edge hardware to support real-time data visualization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience developing iOS applications.
• Proficiency with Swift and SwiftUI; familiarity with UIKit and iOS frameworks.
• Experience with EFB or related aviation mapping/location features.
• Experience building offline-first or connectivity-resilient apps.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit and modern iOS frameworks.
• Build high-performance apps handling large datasets in real time.
• Develop EFB features including location services, maps, and instrument displays.
• Integrate with external hardware and edge devices for real-time data ingestion.
• Architect offline-first experiences with graceful degradation for low/no connectivity.
• Implement background processing and long-running tasks using Swift Concurrency.
• Apply data security practices including Keychain storage and encryption.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to deliver precise mobile experiences.
• Participate in code reviews and follow iOS best practices and architecture.
