Job summary

BRMi is seeking an experienced Mobile Developer to design, build, test, and maintain native mobile applications for iOS and Android, delivering secure, scalable, and user-friendly experiences. You will work in cross-functional Agile teams, participate in ceremonies, mentor junior developers, and contribute to platform improvements while aligning with business objectives.

Hybrid work locations include Vienna, VA, Pensacola, FL, or Winchester, VA with three onsite days weekly; in-person interviews

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Eng or related field.
• Experience shipping native iOS and/or Android apps.
• Proficiency in Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and CI/CD is preferred.

Overview

BRMi is seeking an experienced Mobile Developers to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of mobile banking applications across iOS and Android platforms. This role is responsible for delivering secure, reliable, scalable, and user-friendly mobile experiences that support business objectives and evolving customer needs. Mobile Developers work within cross-functional Agile teams to design, develop, test, and maintain mobile applications while contributing to platform stability, performance, and continuous improvement. Depending on experience level, responsibilities may include independent feature development, technical guidance, mentoring junior developers, and supporting broader mobile platform initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mobile applications and features for iOS and/or Android platforms.
• Develop secure, scalable, reliable, and user-friendly mobile solutions that align with business requirements and platform standards.
• Investigate and resolve production issues, application defects, and performance concerns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams, including front-end developers, back-end engineers, designers, analysts, and product stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Follow established platform-specific development standards, coding practices, and software engineering best practices.
• Develop and maintain unit tests and UI tests to support application quality and reliability.
• Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.
• Integrate mobile applications with RESTful APIs, back-end services, and third-party libraries.
• Monitor mobile operating system updates, development trends, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain reusable mobile components and contribute to shared component libraries.
• Collaborate with team members to improve application performance, stability, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Support mobile application releases, deployment activities, and ongoing production maintenance.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to junior developers as appropriate.
• Contribute to mobile platform enhancements, architectural improvements, and cross-team initiatives based on experience level.
• Support enterprise mobile initiatives and contribute to platform strategy and technical standards as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience developing native mobile applications for iOS and/or Android platforms, with the level of experience dependent on position seniority.
• Proficiency in applicable mobile development languages and tools, including Swift, Objective‑C, and Xcode for iOS or Kotlin, Java, and Android Studio for Android.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining mobile application features.
• Experience integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs, back-end services, and third-party libraries.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies; SAFe experience preferred.
• Understanding of mobile application architecture, platform-specific development standards, and software engineering best practices.
• Experience writing and maintaining unit tests and UI tests.
• Experience troubleshooting application defects, debugging code, and resolving technical issues.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, designers, product owners, analysts, and other technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage assigned development tasks and priorities.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated mobile application build and deployment processes preferred.
• Knowledge of mobile accessibility standards and inclusive application development practices preferred.
• Experience with mobile application performance monitoring and optimization preferred.
• Experience developing reusable components and contributing to shared mobile libraries preferred.
• Experience mentoring junior developers or providing technical guidance preferred for senior‑level positions.
• Experience supporting mobile platform architecture, enterprise initiatives, or technical strategy preferred for senior and principal‑level positions.
