Labcorp in Homewood, AL is seeking a phlebotomist to join our team. You will perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques, and provide exceptional patient service in a fast-paced setting.

You will also collect specimens for drug screens and other tests, enter data accurately, and assist with billing. Travel to additional sites as needed and work well in a team environment.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED; or a phlebotomy certification or training with 3+ months of experience.
• Preferred two years of phlebotomy experience.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with a 1-hour lunch

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Phlebotomist will work in either a Patient Service Center or Client office. In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

This position requires you to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Subject to applicable law, all prospective hires will need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for medical or religious accommodations.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED or equivalent Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications:

2 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards:

In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service Strong communication skills; both written and verbal Ability to work independently or in a team environment Comfortable working under minimal supervision Reliable transportation Flexibility to work overtime as needed Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Benefits:

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.

Phlebotomist’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
