Job summary

Ares Management is seeking a Vice-President to serve as Senior Project Manager for Investment Technology, coordinating across engineering, architecture, product, operations, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery within scope and with transparency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years managing complex enterprise technology projects or programs.
  • Demonstrated success leading large cross-functional initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and PM best practices.
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience presenting to senior executives and running steering committees.
  • Experience in asset management, financial services, or capital markets preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end planning, execution, governance, and delivery of multiple technology initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain integrated plans, roadmaps, budgets, and schedules.
  • Drive accountability and resolve blockers;

  • Identify and mitigate risks, issues, assumptions, and constraints.

  • Champion Agile ceremonies and hybrid delivery approaches where appropriate.
  • Promote continuous improvement through lessons learned and metrics.

Job Description

Ares is seeking a Vice-President to serve as Senior Project Manager for Investment Technology, the engineering team responsible for delivering Technology solutions across Credit, Real Estate, Real Assets and Quant within Ares. The role serves as the central point of coordination across engineering, architecture, product, operations, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure strategic initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and with complete transparency.

The successful candidate brings a proven track record of consistently delivering strategic initiatives with predictable execution. They create transparency for leadership, effectively manage complex dependencies, anticipate and mitigate risks before they impact delivery, and build trusted partnerships across technology and business teams.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, governance, and delivery of multiple concurrent technology initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, roadmaps, milestones, budgets, and delivery schedules.
  • Drive accountability for commitments and proactively identify and resolve blockers.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies, resources, scope, and change to ensure coordinated execution.
  • Identify, assess, communicate, and mitigate risks, issues, assumptions, and constraints.
  • Facilitate governance forums and steering committees, driving timely decisions and clear escalation of issues.
  • Provide concise executive-level reporting on schedule, scope, budget, risks, dependencies, and delivery confidence.
  • Partner effectively with business, technology, and third-party stakeholders to maintain alignment on priorities and outcomes.
  • Champion Agile methodologies and promote Agile ceremonies to ensure effective backlog, sprint, and release planning, while applying hybrid delivery approaches where appropriate.
  • Promote continuous improvement through lessons learned and delivery metrics.
Qualifications
Experience & Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years managing complex enterprise technology projects or programs.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, cross-functional initiatives in matrixed organizations.
  • Deep understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and project management best practices.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with proactive risk management.
  • Experience presenting to senior executives and running steering committees
  • Experience within asset management, financial services, or capital markets preferred
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar tools preferred
  • Familiarity with Direct Lending, Fixed Income and Real Estate asset classes is preferred

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$225,000 - $250,000
