About the Role

Fixed Income Product Management (“FIPM”) at Wellington Management works closely with our fixed income investment teams, relationship teams, and business colleagues across the firm to support our clients’ investment needs. Our fixed income investors span a wide range of disciplines, geographies, industries, market capitalizations, and styles. The FIPM function has three main objectives:

  • Product Development and Marketing: Drive client growth by leading business planning, developing investment solutions, crafting differentiated product messaging, and serving as a subject matter expert across internal and external audiences.
  • Investment Integrity and Risk Management: Provide independent oversight of investment and risk processes, ensure alignment with client objectives, conduct regular product reviews, and contribute to formal investment governance.
  • Business Management: Oversee product-level business operations including risk, capacity, pricing, and guidelines; resolve internal challenges; and promote best practices across product teams.
Role and responsibilities

Investment Specialists are members of product teams, which are led by an Investment Director. They work closely with the Investment Director(s), investment teams, and business professionals on the areas described above. Responsibilities include performing analyses that ensure portfolio integrity by providing oversight of portfolio positioning, performance, and risk exposures. The individual will also contribute to the development of new investment strategies and client solutions, conduct market and competitor analysis, evaluate product overlap and capacity trends and prepare white papers and presentation materials that serve to differentiate our portfolios. Over time the individual will participate in meetings with clients, prospects and consultants to communicate our investment philosophy, strategy, positioning, and performance.

The ideal candidate is a flexible problem solver with a can‑do attitude, who takes ownership of issues. The individual will work closely with members of the investment team, the Client Group and other functional areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

The Investment Specialist role requires demonstrated knowledge of portfolio and market analysis and a passion for fixed income investing. Advanced analytical skills include the ability to frame issues, identify important points and draw conclusions, combined with strong communication skills and intellectual curiosity. They must be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment in a multi‑faceted role, where priorities can change rapidly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor portfolio positioning, performance, and risk exposures to ensure investment integrity.
  • Contribute to the development of new investment strategies and client solutions.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy.
  • Evaluate product overlap, capacity trends, and pricing dynamics.
  • Prepare white papers and presentation materials to differentiate portfolios.
  • Participate in client, prospect, and consultant meetings to communicate investment philosophy and performance.
  • Collaborate with investment teams, the Client Group, and other functional areas.
  • Integrate AI tools into workflows to enhance efficiency and insight generation.
  • Support business management initiatives including risk oversight and internal issue resolution.
  • Represent the product team with professionalism and clarity in high‑stakes environments.
Further qualifications include
  • 5–7+ years of industry experience, preferably in a relevant capacity.
  • MBA and/or CFA preferred.
  • Familiarity with securitized products, including Agency MBS, RMBS, CMBS, ABS, and CLOs, is a meaningful advantage.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to frame issues and draw insights.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex fixed income topics clearly and effectively.
  • Poise under pressure and strong presentation skills.
  • Creative problem‑solving and a solutions‑oriented mindset.
  • Strong business judgment and intellectual curiosity.

The base salary range for this position is: USD 90,000 - 180,000.
