Job summary

JCW Group seeks an Investment Risk Associate to join its front-office Risk team in New York. You will work closely with the Chief Risk Officer, Portfolio Managers and the Portfolio Analytics group to deliver portfolio construction and risk analysis that informs investment decisions across leveraged loans, high yield, CLOs and private credit.

The role is on-site three days a week in New York and emphasizes hands-on risk modelling, performance attribution and communicating findings to senior

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of investment risk experience in fixed income or multi-asset.
• Deep knowledge of leveraged loans, high yield, private credit or structured credit.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, R or MATLAB.
• Experience with data visualization platforms.

Responsibilities

• Analyze portfolio construction, positioning and risk exposures and advise on risk budgeting.
• Develop scenario analysis, stress testing and attribution frameworks.
• Analyze CLO structural risk including coverage test cushions and tranche subordination.
• Prepare portfolio risk reporting and present findings to managers and stakeholders.

Job description

JCW is currently working on behalf of a boutique private credit firm that is looking to hire an Investment Risk Associate to join their Risk team. Working closely with the Chief Risk Officer, Portfolio Managers and the Portfolio Analytics team, this position will be responsible for providing portfolio construction and risk analysis that directly informs investment decision-making across leveraged loans, high yield, CLOs and private credit. This is a front-office-facing analytical role rather than a traditional risk oversight function. This position will be based three days on-site in New York.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyze portfolio construction, positioning and risk exposures, advising Portfolio Managers on position sizing, diversification, risk budgeting and relative positioning versus benchmarks and peers
• Develop and enhance scenario analysis, stress testing and performance attribution frameworks across investment strategies
• Analyze CLO structural risk, including coverage test cushions, par build dynamics, collateral quality and tranche subordination
• Prepare portfolio risk reporting and present findings to Portfolio Managers, senior management and parent company stakeholders
• Minimum 6 years of investment risk experience in a fixed income or multi-asset strat asset manager
• Deep knowledge of leveraged loans, high yield, private credit or structured credit; CLO structural mechanics experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of investment risk concepts across market, portfolio, interest rate and liquidity risk, including performance attribution
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, R or MATLAB, plus experience with data visualization tools and platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Intex or Kanerai
