Job summary

True North Advisors seeks an Investment Manager to join our Dallas team, reporting to the Chief Investment Officer. This full-time role provides broad exposure across public and private markets, with emphasis on hedge funds and portfolio construction.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of relevant investment experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage projects independently while collaborating with a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required (finance preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of full-time investment experience at an RIA, MFO, endowment/foundation, or similar institution.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; comfort with learning analytical software systems such as Bloomberg, Addepar, FactSet and Morningstar Direct.
• Strong analytical mindset with demonstrated investment judgment and a sustained interest in investments.
• Ability to invest alongside clients, including in private equity and hedge fund allocations.
• Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage projects independently.
• Ability to collaborate and contribute effectively to a high-performing team.
• Must consent to and have favorable credit report and background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead and, as appropriate support, investment due diligence across asset classes including equity, hedge funds, fixed income, private equity, and others.
• Prepare analysis and materials for investment committee review and presentations.
• Attend regular diligence meetings and calls with current and potential investment managers.
• Assist with the portfolio construction, reporting, and ongoing management of investment strategies.
• Support the preparation of internal and external investment communications, including presentations, commentaries, and investment reports.
• Support responses to client-related investment inquiries and reporting needs.
• Represent the investment team in external meetings with clients and other constituents.
