Job summary

Consolidated Precision Products in Albany, OR, is seeking an Investment Casting Operator to support aerospace titanium casting operations on the weekday graveyard schedule. You will operate, monitor, and adjust dipping equipment, prep slurry, and handle molds and tools in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED, solid job history, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to pass background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor dipping equipment.
• Set up, prepare, and test slurry mixtures.
• Use wire wheel grinder to remove ceramic material from handles and parts.
• Load and unload molds from conveyor.
• Load and unload products from carts.
• Perform routine cleaning and greasing of robot heads.
• Assist with batch preparation and material handling.
• Other duties as assigned.

Titanium investment casting is a manufacturing process that uses titanium, making an exact replica shape of an item. Melted titanium is poured into a wax pattern mold. Special ceramic material is then coated in the wax pattern mold and left to dry and harden. The mold is heated to let the wax melt and come out. The ceramic shell becomes an investment mold. Liquefied titanium is added into the mold and cooled. The mold is then knocked off to reveal the replica.

Primary Purpose:

An Investing Operator will perform wax mold investing operations on aerospace product.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Use a wire wheel grinder to remove ceramic material from handles, bolts, and strongbacks.
• Set up, prepare, and test mixtures for slurry.
• Operate and monitorautomatic dipping equipment.
• Clean and grease robot head.
• Loadand unload molds from conveyor.
• Cut mesh wire to specifications using a hand shear and mechanical shear.
• Bend metal banding around strongbacks.
• Load and unload product from carts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Prior manufacturing or investment casting experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Good attendance record required.
• Able to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to withstand long periods of standing and walking.
• HS diploma or equivalent GED required, but candidates not meeting this requirement who possesses relevant experience will be considered.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Solid job history including more than 1 year at previous or recent employer.
• Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Working Conditions:

• Frequently work near moving mechanical parts.
• The physical effort applied in this job includes lifting, pulling, reaching, manipulating, carrying, pushing, and shoveling.
• Manufacturing requires repetitive motion of hands, wrists and arms.
• Duties often performed under somewhat disagreeable working conditions; exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, noise and chemicals is likely, with at least one present to the extent of being disagreeable.
