We are partnering with a leading US bulge bracket investment bank that is actively seeking highly motivated Associates to join its TMT (Technology, Media & Telecommunications) and Generalist M&A teams. This is a high-impact, client-facing role offering immediate exposure to sell-side and buy-side M&A, capital raising, strategic advisory, and private equity transactions across a range of dynamic sectors.
Associates will work closely with senior bankers and clients on high-profile transactions and gain direct exposure to C-level executives, corporate strategy, and private equity sponsors.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute live M&A and capital raising transactions across the TMT sector (including software, digital media, communications infrastructure, fintech, and IT services) as well as high-growth verticals within the Generalist coverage (such as consumer, industrials, healthcare, business services, and financial institutions).
- Build and maintain complex financial models (three-statement, DCF, LBO, merger models) and support valuation analysis.
- Conduct detailed industry, market, and company research to support deal execution and business development.
- Prepare pitch books, management presentations, and client-ready materials.
- Support due diligence processes, manage data rooms, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, accounting, and client-side teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree from a top-tier academic institution.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or a relevant financial advisory role.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in financial modeling and valuation (DCF, precedent transactions, trading comparables, LBO).
- Demonstrated interest or experience in TMT sectors—with exposure to software, SaaS, communications, digital media, or emerging tech especially valued.
- Broader industry exposure (e.g. consumer, healthcare, business services) is a plus for those joining the Generalist M&A team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and contributing to client meetings.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deal workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
- Preference for candidates based in, or open to relocating to New York, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, or Los Angeles, with a strong in-office, team-driven mindset.
