Job summary

Truist Wealth is seeking an Investment Analyst to support Investment Managers and the Investment Advisory Group in delivering investment management services to high-net-worth clients. The role involves client onboarding, strategy formulation, and ongoing portfolio review for roughly 100-150 relationships with $1–$2 billion AUM.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; Series 65 licenses; 60 days to transfer, or 100 days to acquire registrations.
  • Finance fundamentals understood; strong presentation and oral/written communication skills.
  • 2+ years of investment management/trading or related experience.
  • Ability to work on complex projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Investment Managers in acquiring prospective clients through analysis of portfolios and presentations.
  • Propose, construct, and monitor client-specific investment strategies.
  • Make proactive recommendations to Investment Managers and clients.
  • Assist with daily trading activities in discretionary and non-discretionary portfolios, ensuring compliance.
  • Monitor client portfolios relative to their investment policy statement with compliance.
  • Assist onboarding and develop Investment Policy Statements for clients.
  • Develop and advise on investment recommendations and transition new clients into ongoing portfolio management.
  • Prepare regular investment reviews and adjust strategies to meet client goals.
  • Attend client meetings and participate in presentations; engage in risk management.

The Investment Analyst (IA) is responsible for working with Investment Managers and the Investment Advisory Group (IAG) to assist in the delivery of Investment Management Services to clients in Truist Wealth who generally have $5mm+ in AUM. The Investment Analyst will typically work with a minimum of 2 Investment Managers to manage a client base of approximately 100-150 relationships with assets under management averaging $1 - $2 billion and revenue responsibility averaging $7.5 - $10 million.

The investment team is a critical partner in new business development and acts as a primary source for investment communication. The IA assists the Investment Manager in acquiring prospective clients through comprehensive analysis of complex outside portfolios and presentation preparation. Propose, construct, and monitor client-specific, advice-driven investment strategies and solutions for individuals and families. Make proactive recommendations to Investment Managers and/or clients. Responsible, along with Investment Managers, for daily trading activities in discretionary, non-discretionary, and trust-based portfolios and is responsible for adhering to and documenting compliance with Truist, SunTrust Advisory Services, and relevant regulatory policies and procedures. Work with Investment Managers and compliance to monitor client portfolios relative to their investment policy statement and work with the team to identify and address variances. Actively assist in the client onboarding experience and develop the Investment Policy Statement in accordance with the client’s unique situation. Develop and advise on investment recommendations and help transition new clients into a collaborative and on-going portfolio management and client communication cycle. Prepare regular investment reviews for existing clients, recommend, establish, monitor, and adjust, as necessary, investment strategies and solutions designed to achieve the client’s goals. Attend meetings and participate in presentations to clients and interact with other Truist wealth teammates. Actively engaged in risk management.

The annual base salary for this position is $80,000 - $92,500

Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent education and related training. Series 65 licenses. Candidates will have 60 days from their Start Date to transfer, or 100 days from their Start Date to acquire all of the registrations and licenses required for this position.

Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of finance and investment theory. Possesses presentation skills as well as oral and written communication skills. 2+ years of investment management / trading or related experience. Ability to work on complex projects with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification [or progress towards CFA] MBA [or progress towards MBA] Additional Professional Designations such as CFP®, CIMA, CAIA
