City of Atlanta seeks a professional investigator for the Atlanta Citizen Review Board to conduct investigations into officer-involved shootings and use-of-force cases, and to prepare reports for administrative hearings. You will support the board and prepare investigative summaries and related reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1 year investigating allegations of misconduct.
  • 2 years investigative work in relevant fields.
  • Law degree may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Experience with officer-involved shootings and report writing.

Responsibilities

  • Receive complaints and provide information on the ACRB functions.
  • Identify allegations and investigate complaints under ACRB jurisdiction.
  • Maintain records, preserve evidence, and handle materials securely.
  • Analyze information and evidence and make recommendations.
  • Write detailed investigative reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Summarize progress for complainants and officers and their representatives.
  • Prepare monthly caseload lists and may testify before the board.
  • Build relationships with community groups and agencies; participate in outreach.
