The Department of Criminal Justice Training is pleased to announce the following job opportunity for one (1) Investigator II position, within the Office of the State School Security Marshal (OSSSM) – School Safety Compliance Branch – East Section (requisition number 26-01741). Applications will be accepted until 8 p.m. on April 15, 2026.

Requirement for the position

Whoever is selected must live in Region 7. The OSSSM region 7 consists of the following counties: Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, and Lincoln; or an adjacent county to the region (Bourbon, Casey, Estill, Madison, Marion, Mercer, Montgomery, Powell, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Scott, Washington, Woodford).

• As an applicant, you will be assessed by the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet and DOCJT to determine suitability for the open position.
• Selected candidates will be notified and offered an interview by DOCJT.
• The hiring agency will then submit the top three applicants to the Division of Career Opportunities (DCO).
• The DCO reviews selected candidates to determine if all state personnel requirements have been met.
• DOCJT makes a job offer to the top candidate approved by the DCO.
• Applicants not selected during the process will be notified through the MyPurpose portal.
• Applicants not selected can reapply for any open position for which they qualify.
• The hiring process must be completed within 90 days.
