Job summary

The Florida Bar, Lawyer Regulation Dept. —Orlando Branch, is seeking hourly part-time Investigators to work independently in Central Florida. The role covers all counties in Central Florida with a $29.00 hourly rate.

Responsibilities include interviewing witnesses, reviewing documents, serving subpoenas, and preparing memorandums for counsel and grievance committees. Travel statewide and testify in discipline prosecutions are expected.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or its equivalency is required.
  • Prior law enforcement or investigative experience is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation for statewide travel across Central Florida.

The Florida Bar’s Lawyer Regulation Dept. —Orlando Branch has openings forhourly part-time Investigators. Ability to work independently required. Hourly rate: $29.00.

This position will cover all counties in Central Florida.

Duties Include:
  • Locate and interview witnesses pursuant to TFB's investigation and prosecution of attorney discipline matters.
  • Locate and review documents.
  • Serve subpoenas.
  • Prepare written memorandums of investigations for presentation to TFB counsel and grievance committees.
  • Testify in TFB discipline prosecutions.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of: Investigative principles and techniques
  • Skilled in: Windows; MS Word; MS Excel; Internet applications & Databases.
  • Ability to:Manage and maintain a high level of confidentiality; Testify effectively; Travel statewide; Interpret policies and procedures; Prioritize, plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; Operate well under pressure; Communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Familiarize yourself with Rules Regulating The Florida Bar.
Qualifications Include:
  • High School Diploma (or its equivalency).
  • Prior law enforcement and/or investigative experience.
  • Reliable transportation to travel as this position will be covering all counties in Central Florida.
Preferences:
  • Prior experience as an expert witness
  • Bilingual-English/Spanish
  • Position is open until filled.
