Job summary

The Department of Justice seeks a GS-12 level investigator to lead and support federal civil action cases. You will conduct complex investigations, assess evidence, interview witnesses, and perform data analyses that inform case strategy.

You will coordinate with other agencies, review voluminous documents, and prepare investigative opinions requiring careful judgement. ICTAP/CTAP eligibility may apply for displaced employees.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting complex investigations and/or financial examinations related to civil actions.
• Knowledge of public healthcare programs, the statutory and regulatory provisions governing such programs, and/or methods to identify fraud, waste, and abuse within such programs.
• Selecting interviewees and conducting interviews of witnesses.
• Performing quantitative, qualitative or other analysis of relevant facts.
• Coordinating investigatory activities with, and liaising with, other federal or state agencies.
• Preparing investigative opinions that require use of considerable judgement and discretion.
• Conducting case investigations independently, as a lead investigator or as a team member.
• Reviewing, analyzing, organizing, and summarizing voluminous and complex documents and data.

To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must possess: GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service as defined below.

• experience conducting complex investigations and/or financial examinations related to civil actions.
