Job summary

Defense Logistics Agency seeks an Inventory Management Specialist to support DoD supply operations and asset readiness. You will review back-order status daily, coordinate and release Sales Orders, and analyze data from production and supply systems to maintain overall supply effectiveness.

The role requires applying supply policies, expediting actions, and identifying alternative supply sources for emergencies, ensuring alignment with end-item requirements and DoD procedures.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in retail supply and inventory management functions.
• Experience in Order Fulfillment including distribution system and ordering applications.
• Combination of post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for GS-09.

Responsibilities

• Reviews back-order status reports on a daily basis and takes action to escalate backorders to meet customer requirements.
• Investigates, coordinates and releases Sales Orders that inhibit flow through automated systems.
• Reviews and analyzes data from production and supply systems to ensure supply effectiveness and asset requisitions meet end item requirements.
• Applies supply support policies, procedures, regulations, and operating instructions.
• Applies DoD expedite policy and other SOPs to request expedite actions within supply chains.
• Identifies potential sources of supply for emergency requirements and suggests alternatives when long lead times occur.
