Job summary

NAPA is seeking an Inventory Stock Associate in Anchorage to maintain accurate inventory, manage stock flow, and keep the store organized. You will receive and stock freight, perform cycle counts, and pull orders for delivery drivers and will-call customers with strong attention to part numbers and customer service.

The role requires lifting up to 60 pounds, operating basic computer systems, and supporting store operations to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 1 year minimum experience stocking, loading, or pulling.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Able to read part numbers/line codes and identify parts accurately.
  • Capable of operating a computer terminal.

Responsibilities

  • Pull all orders for delivery drivers and for counter customers and will-call, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Receive, stock, and organize incoming merchandise with accurate shelving and placement.
  • Conduct cycle counts and support inventory accuracy and record maintenance.
  • Perform housekeeping and safety compliance; use inventory systems for coordination and dispatching.
  • Assist customers by phone or in-person as needed and support logistics/fulfillment operations.
  • Support store operations and process improvements to optimize performance.

SummaryThe Inventory Stock Associate is focused on maintaining accurate inventory, efficient product flow, and a clean/organized store environment. This role is responsible for receiving/posting freight, cycle counts, shelving/organization/maintenance of inventory, accurate and timely order pulling for delivery drivers, counter customers, and will-call. This role requires strong technical knowledge of automotive parts, the ability to identify and source the correct parts, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. The position also serves as a key resource for internal team members on product and system knowledge.Position Performance Measures:Inventory ComplianceOn time stocking and deliveriesStore SalesStore cleanliness and organizationAdherence to operational and inventory processesContribution to team support and store operations including inventory and delivery managementCompliance with asset protection and loss prevention standardsResponsibilitiesThe following primary responsibilities are not all inclusive:Pulls all orders to be delivered by our drivers to wholesale customers. Also pulls for the demands of the main counter retail/wholesale customers and will-call as accurately and completely as possible, routing products as appropriate, and meeting the prescribed time frame set by management.Receive, post, stock, and organize incoming merchandise; maintain accurate shelving and product placement.Conduct cycle counts and support ongoing inventory accuracy and record maintenance.Perform general housekeeping, facility cleaning, packing material/pallet disposal, and area-specific organization while adhering to all safety rules (including hazardous materials handling).Proficiently use inventory systems for coordination, dispatching support, and fulfillment efficiency.Periodically assist customers via phone or in-person (foot traffic) as store volume requires; provide basic support or escalate appropriatelyUtilize delivery management systems to coordinate and dispatch deliveries, pull and prepare orders for customers and drivers, and support efficient logistics and fulfillment operations.Contribute to various store operations and team support tasks as needed to optimize store performance, merchandising, and overall efficiency.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to store processes and operational standards.QualificationsAt least 1 year previous experience stocking, loading, or pulling.High School Diploma, or equivalent experience, required.Must be functionally literate and capable of understanding and recognizing part numbers and line codes to ensure proper identification of parts for placement in the facility, including identifying sequence of numbers and letters accurately and rapidly.Must be able to write legibly.Must have basic understanding and be capable of operating a computer terminal and, perform associated duties as assigned by management.Must be capable of lifting and moving parts of up to 60 pounds and push/pull 300 pounds using hitch-and-go dolly.Must be able to move engine blocks and other heavy equipment with moving aids designed to move such items, including hand trucks, dollies, motorized carts, pallet jacks, etc.Must be able to repeatedly bend or stoop to ground level shelves and be able to reach upper shelves (8 feet) with the use of stool or ladder when necessary.Must be able to work on their feet (stand or walk) for their assigned work shifts.Organizational StructureReports to: Store Manager / Assistant Store ManagerWorks closely with: Counter Sales Associates, drivers, external customers as applicable (retail and dealer shops)Part of: Retail Store Operations within NAPAPhysical Demands / Working EnvironmentRetail and warehouse environmentStanding and walking for extended periods throughout the shiftAbility to lift and move parts and equipment up to ~60 lbsFrequent bending, stooping, reaching (including use of ladders/stools)Use of equipment such as hand trucks, dollies, and hydraulic liftsRequires visual accuracy for identifying part numbers and sequencesFast-paced environment requiring multitasking and attention to detailNot the right fit?
