Base pay range: $18.00/hr - $21.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Executing, monitoring, and training inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy.
- Supporting pharmacy inventory management activities – receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns. Championing On-Shelf Availability and ensuring accuracy of planograms.
- Reviewing and coordinating reports and system applications impacting front end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.
- Maintaining front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, filing claims for vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods including prescription drugs.
- Opening and closing stores in the absence of store management, performing required system start‑ups, cash handling, cashier duties, and preparing floor and stock room for the business day.
Customer Experience
- Engaging customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- Resolving customer issues and answering questions to ensure a positive experience when serving as the leader on duty.
- Modeling and sharing customer service best practices with all team members.
Operations
- Executing and coaching team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes.
- Scanning deliveries and performing One Box receiving, contacting vendors for undelivered receipts, and opening tickets for inaccuracies.
- Verifying pharmacy shipments and completing postings for pharmacy warehouse orders, ABC prescription and OTC orders, secondary vendor orders, flu and dropship orders.
- Completing On‑Shelf Availability (OSA) end‑to‑end process including warehouse and direct store delivery (DSD) for planogrammed departments.
- Managing pharmacy inventory activities, including recalls, vendor returns, non‑controlled returns, and excess inventory transfers.
- Executing all pricing activities: price changes, markdowns, and deletes.
- Supporting front end and pharmacy ordering, monitoring manual orders, maintaining consigned inventory.
- Ensuring accurate inventory counts and compliance with state and local laws for regulated products.
- Coaching store team on package delivery activities, scanning packages, and supporting pickup program.
- Handling registration of sales, product returns, voids, cash deposits, and customer refunds.
- Maintaining respectful relationships and compliance with company policies.
- Completing any additional activities and tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
- Attending company‑based trainings and completing all e‑learning modules including safety training requirements.
- Obtaining and maintaining a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state.
Communications
- Serving as a liaison between management and non‑management team members by coaching and developing others.
- Communicating assigned tasks to team members and reporting disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management when serving as the leader on duty.
Basic Qualifications
- Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
- “Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi‑task and manage execution.
- Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens.
