Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company in Simsbury, CT seeks an Inventory Specialist to support the Electronics Center of Excellence with inventory movement, cycle counts, and Kanban management. The role requires handling shipments, reconciliations, and material dispositions, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager.

Experience in aerospace, ERP systems, and MS Office is important; DOT/IATA knowledge is a plus. A High School diploma is required, with an AS in Business or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; AAS Business or equivalent is a plus.
  • Experience in Aerospace and Defense preferred; material management background helpful.
  • Experience with ERP systems to move and ship materials; inventory transactions and cycle counts.
  • Knowledge of hazardous material shipping (DOT CFR-49, IATA) a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment; entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to transport parts on campus.

Responsibilities

  • Supports daily shipment receipt and material movement processes.
  • Leads resolution to ensure accurate, timely accounting for inventory.
  • Supports weekly cycle count; manages count sheets and reconciles reports.
  • Works with Operations to create and maintain Kanbans.
  • Manages kitting programs to support work starts.
  • Dispositions of excess inventory and involvement in close-out, reconciliation, disposal.
  • Supports CFP program and supplier inventory processes; reports issues.
  • Backs up hazardous material and inert product shipping.
  • Aids outside audit preparation and support.
  • Troubleshoots inventory issues and reconciliations.

Job Description

EBAD seeks a Supply Chain professional for the position ofInventory Specialist, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager.This role will be pivotal in supporting the growth of our Electronics Center of Excellence (ECE).

Responsibilities:
  • Supports daily shipment receipt and material movement process.
  • Leads problem resolution to ensure accurate, timely accounting for incoming supplier inventory and inventory accuracy.
  • Support the weekly Cycle Count process. Manage count sheets, and reconcile weekly reports. Lead corrective action process. Report results weekly.
  • Work with Operations teams to create & maintain production and supplier managed Kanbans.
  • Works closely with Operations teams to manage Kitting program to support work starts
  • Work with Operation and Program team members to complete dispositions of excess inventory and participate in material close-out activity. Assist with reconciliation, disposal and accounting for Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory.
  • Support Customer Furnished Property (CFP) program and supplier inventory process. Leads problem resolution and performs reporting.
  • Back up for hazardous material and inert product Shipping.
  • Outside audit preparation and support.
  • Trouble shooting inventory issues and reconciliations.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma is required. AAS Business or equivalent experience is a plus.
  • Experience working in Aerospace and Defense is desired; preferably in a material management organization.
  • Experience using ERP systems to logically move and physically ship materials.
  • Inventory transactions, storage and cycle count experience required.
  • Knowledge of hazardous material shipping and movement experience desired. DOT CFR-49 and IATA Certification is a plus.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office products; especially Word and Excel.
  • Excels in a dynamic, changeable work environment. Energetic and positive. Ability to work independently. Processes an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and ability to transport parts short distances around campus.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50Lbs.
