Valley Health System in Paramus, NJ is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support materials management, purchase drugs and supplies, and manage floor stock inventory within the Pharmacy Department.
Responsibilities include receiving pharmaceutical products, maintaining floor stock systems, and providing technician support as needed in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role requires CPhT certification, NJ registration, and strong organizational skills.
To support the materials management area, purchase drugs and supplies under the control of Pharmacy, manage floor stock drugs/inventory, receive pharmaceutical products and inventory to the Pharmacy Department, maintain and support systems that provide floor stock meds, and function as a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.
Current New Jersey Pharmacy Technician Registration required.
Associate degree or additional college coursework preferred.
Three to five years of hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred.
Experience with medication purchasing, inventory management, automated dispensing cabinets, or pharmacy supply chain preferred.
Knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, medication procurement, inventory management, automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis), controlled substance handling, and purchasing processes.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical nomenclature, dosage forms, strengths, storage requirements, and inventory control principles.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with pharmacy information systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office applications.

Pay Range: $29.34 - $36.67 (per hour)
