Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a contract Shipping and Parts Control specialist in Lima, OH to support manufacturing operations. You will review morning inventories, check part status for customers, coordinate with scheduling on die sets, and prepare shippers for early trucks to protect customer timelines.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, lean manufacturing knowledge, and experience with MS Office, CMMS, and production control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Manufacturing assembly and machining experience.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Safety and MP&L experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of constraint management principles.

Responsibilities

• Review morning inventories for critical issues.
• Check part status for all customers and coordinate shipments.
• Coordinate with scheduling on die sets and changeovers.
• Prepare shippers for early trucks and print pick lists.
• Monitor rack status and daily inventory for shortages.
• Enter outbound shipments into CMMS; track status changes.
• Review service parts requirements for the coming week.
• Inform customers about parts out of transit.

Responsibilities

• Review morning inventories for potential critical issues.
• Check part status for all customers.
• Check parts owed to plants and analyze expedites needed for plants.
• Review all customers using the same part and prioritize shipments.
• Prepare shippers for early trucks and print pick list at the shipping office.
• Add shortage parts to the critical list.
• Coordinate with scheduling on required die sets and changeover to protect customers.
• Review rack status and daily rack inventory for shortages.
• Enter outbound shipments into OBL.
• Review car manifests in CMMS to find required racks.
• Check TSAA for overdue rail cars or inbound trucks.
• Review for critical shortages from plant startup.
• Inform customers via CMMS about parts out of transit.
• Check all customers for CUM disagreements and answer part shortages.
• Monitor part statuses at customers in CMMS and respond to status changes.
• Review service parts requirements for the coming week.
• Monitor shipping progress for service shipments over several days.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Manufacturing assembly and machining experience.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Safety and MP&L experience.
• Knowledge of constraint management principles.
• Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Lima, OH.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.26 - $28.90/hr.
