Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks an Inventory Control Tech I for the South Lake Union campus. This full-time, on-site role manages medical supply inventory, restocks daily, and coordinates with clinical staff to support patient care.

You will use automated systems, maintain par levels, and participate in audits and recalls under GMP guidance. Candidates need a high school diploma, 1 year supply chain experience, and the ability to lift heavy packages.

Qualifications

  • High School Degree, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year supply chain related experience or other relevant experience.
  • Must be able to attain Pharmacy Assistant License within 45 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of computerized or automated systems operations.
  • Knowledge of record keeping practices.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Basic math skills and knowledge of units of measure.
  • Knowledge of safety practice.
  • Ability to lift heavy packages and objects > 50 lbs. using proper technique.
  • Must be able to push/pull cart with 400 lbs. load.

Responsibilities

  • Uses an automated inventory control and par leveling system for the ordering, stocking/restocking of medical supplies under the scope of the supply chain management.
  • Restocks supplies daily and rotates inventory supporting accurate inventory levels, generating requisitions as needed.
  • Distributes medical supplies to patient care areas, while monitoring par levels for specific products to assure that appropriate levels are established in order not to affect patient care.
  • Identifies opportunities through the manipulation of par levels, address slow moving inventory by removing product or increasing par levels to meet departmental demand.
  • Responsible for maintaining clean and orderly stock locations and labeling of products.
  • Acts as liaison between clinical staff and supply chain management as needed.
  • Works with and follows instructions of the GMP Specialist in the event of recalls to pull relevant products.
  • Perform monthly Expired Lot audit.
  • Communicate inventory shortages to Stores Lead or Purchasing.
  • Trains new workers in area operations.
  • Provide vacation and sick call coverage for Inventory Techs.

This position is full-time, hourly. Location is onsite at our South Lake Union campus. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5am-1:30pm.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.30 to $30.13 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
