Jabil in Prince George, VA is seeking an Inventory Control Supervisor to lead a high-performing team during a new factory startup for large form-factor equipment. You will build processes, hire staff, and establish work instructions from ground up.

You will drive inventory strategies, improve efficiency, maintain compliance, and ensure accuracy across the facility, working with operations, quality, and engineering. Leadership, Lean/Six Sigma, and ERP/WMS experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and 10+ years of experience will be considered
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and SAP
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience, preferably in a progressive operational setting
• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or supply chain environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated experience leading process improvement initiatives that drive efficiency, quality, inventory accuracy, and cost savings
• Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred
• Ability to analyze operational data, identify improvement opportunities, and implement sustainable solutions
• Strong understanding of inventory control, warehouse operations, and material flow processes

Location and Availability

** On-site at our Prince George, VA facility. ** This role is to support a new factory in Prince George, VA (onsite) startup manufacturing large form-factor equipment. The product will be large (shipping container size), heavy (50+ tons), and complex. This position will be part of the core factory startup and onboarding team responsible for building the operations and manufacturing staff, fitting out the building, and creating the process flow/work instructions/etc. from the ground up.

Shift A: Mon - Fri (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM)

Job Summary

The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for developing and leading a high-performing team through effective hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and succession planning while driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Working cross-functionally with operations, quality, engineering, and business leaders, the supervisor implements inventory strategies, improves efficiency and cost performance, maintains compliance with company policies, and ensures inventory accuracy across the facility.

Responsibilities

Recruitment and Retention

Recruit and interview Inventory Control team members. Communicate candidate qualifications and hiring criteria to recruiters. Support and coach team members participating in the interview and hiring process. Monitor turnover, identify improvement opportunities, and implement retention initiatives.

Continuously assess individual and team strengths, performance, and development needs. Develop, maintain, and validate training programs within the area of responsibility. Coach and mentor team members to deliver excellent service to internal and external customers. Develop and manage succession plans for the Inventory Control function.

Establish clear, measurable goals and objectives to evaluate individual and team performance, including operational metrics, project milestones, training completion, attendance, and development goals. Gather feedback from managers, peers, and team members, and provide ongoing coaching and development support. Recognize accomplishments and foster a positive, high-performance work environment. Complete performance evaluations accurately and on schedule. Drive continuous improvement in operational metrics and achievement of organizational goals. Coordinate team activities and maintain focus during periods of high demand or operational challenges. Ensure recognition and reward programs are administered fairly and consistently.

Communication

Facilitate regular team meetings to share information, updates, and ideas. Communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written formats. Encourage team participation and open feedback. Adapt communication style to effectively engage diverse team members.

Business Strategy and Direction

Understand campus and Workcell strategic objectives. Develop and implement Inventory Control strategies aligned with business goals. Support execution of Workcell business plans through effective inventory management. Provide regular updates on strategy execution to business and operations leadership.

Cost Management

Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through process improvements and operational efficiencies. Monitor departmental costs and trends, driving continuous value improvement. Provide cost-related feedback and recommendations to business and functional leaders.

Technical Management

Monitor departmental performance and implement process improvements to optimize results. Increase dock-to-stock performance by reducing non-value-added inspection activities where appropriate. Drive improvements in material processing times and recommend recovery actions when needed. Maintain adequate levels of operational supplies and support equipment. Ensure tools, equipment, and visual aids are current, functional, and support efficient operations. Partner with Inventory Control, Quality, and other departments to resolve issues involving schedules, equipment, documentation, and personnel. Collaborate regularly with Operations, Engineering, Program Management, and support functions. Oversee shipment verification, inventory records, and stockroom accuracy. Ensure manufacturing receives the correct materials in a timely manner. Ensure materials are stocked accurately and promptly. Reduce errors that impact departmental performance, efficiency, and budget targets. Recommend equipment, resource, and staffing improvements as needed. Follow all safety, health, and security policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Pay and Benefits
