Job summary

RJW Logistics Group in Romeoville, IL is seeking an Inventory Control Supervisor to lead stockroom activities and coordinate inventory across the warehouse. The role requires forklift operation experience, WMS knowledge (Synapse preferred), and strong inventory-control practices with KPI reporting and cycle counts.

Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:00 AM–3:30 PM; Salary: $65,000–$70,000 annually. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life and disability, paid holidays, 401(k) matching, and retirement

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years related experience in Inventory Control.
• Minimum 1–2 years related experience in warehouse environment.
• Experience operating forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
• Experience using WMS software (Synapse preferred).
• Working knowledge of Inventory Control practices; KPI reporting, Coordinating Cycle Count programs, Product rotation.
• PC literate with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.

Responsibilities

• Maintains layout of stockroom, warehouse, and storage areas considering turnover, size, weight and related factors.
• Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.
• Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with procedures and stock levels.
• Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
• Prepares composite reports from individual reports of Inventory Specialists.
• Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies and recommends remedial actions.
• Issues written/oral instructions and expedites workflow with team members.
• Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Oversees inbound associates in their daily tasks.
• Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Schedule/Shift: Monday - Friday / 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Hours may vary based on business needs)

Compensation: $65-70k annual

Job Purpose:The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers concerned with inventorying materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors in items stored.
• Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.
• Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
• Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
• Prepares composite reports from individual reports of Inventory Specialists.
• Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
• Issue written / oral instructions and expedites workflow with team members.
• Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Oversees inbound associates in their daily tasks and job responsibilities.
• Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
• Responsible for payroll validations for all respective IC and Inbound associates.
• Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.
• Minimum 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training in warehouse environment.
• Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
• Experience using WMS software (Synapse preferred).
• Working knowledge of Inventory Control practices; KPI reporting, Coordinating Cycle Count programs, Product rotation.
• PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.

Education and/or Experience Required:

• High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write reports and correspondence.
• Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
