Job summary

Capacity LLC in North Brunswick Township, NJ seeks an Inventory Supervisor to oversee counts, discrepancies, and staff development across client inventories. This role requires leadership in cycle counts and physical inventories, plus training for coordinators and process improvement across departments.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in retail or DC operations with strong analytical skills, proficiency in inventory software, and a 4-year degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in retail or distribution center operations with leadership experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and math skills; familiarity with inventory management software helpful.
• General Microsoft applications, intermediate-advanced Excel, and familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• 4-year College Degree or equivalent in industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform counts and ensure inventory is accounted for and reported per policy.
• Investigate and correct discrepancies in quantities and locations.
• Supervise inventory processes, staff performance and development, root cause analysis, and reporting.
• Manage cycle counts of product inventories.
• Supervise physical inventory for clients.
• Train and mentor coordinators; provide support for coordinators' concerns.
• Lead projects and assign work, track and ensure on-time case completion.
• Send case discrepancy escalations to operations; complete daily reports and feedback logs.
• Lead safe work practices and coordinate with departments during inventory processes.
• Establish trusted relationships with operations to ensure quality service to clients.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform counts and ensure all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy
• Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all inventories
• Responsible for the supervision of all inventory processes, staff performance and development, root cause analysis, and reporting for their assigned team
• Manage cycle counts of product inventories regularly
• Supervise Physical inventory for clients
• Responsible for counter & coordinator training, audits, and feedback
• Provide Coordinator Support and be the first point of contact for coordinator’s concerns/issues
• Lead Projects
• Assign work/cases, track & manage on‑time completion of cases, approvals, and monitor case closures to ensure accuracy
• Send case discrepancy escalations to operations o Manage the completion of daily reports & complete feedback logs for inventory control and Operations
• Lead others in safe work practices
• Notify client services when damaged/defective products are discovered
• Coordinate and align with various departments during an inventory process
• Train other employees in inventory management
• Expected to coordinate with peers and across multiple departments for additional resources, information, and equipment when needed
• Establish trusted relationships with operations to ensure quality service to the clients

Qualifications And Skills

• 5 years of experience in retail or distribution center operations, with time spent in a leadership capacity such as Team Lead or Supervisor with an Emphasis on Inventory/Quality Control preferred
• Strong analytical and math skills and an understanding of administrative/clerical software and inventory management software are especially helpful
• General Microsoft application skills, intermediate-advanced excel skills, and general familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
• 4-year College Degree or equivalent in industry experience
