Job summary

Avantor is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to maintain material levels across production cycles, conduct CPI, and manage stock in SAP. You will map warehouses, investigate discrepancies, and generate routine reports to support location and dollar accuracy.

The role requires 2 years of related experience or a GED, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating powered industrial trucks (PIT).

• Excellent time management, attention to detail, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Digital literacy with Microsoft 365, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain CPI and ensure inventory accuracy.
• Map the warehouse and create ranges for analysis.
• Investigate discrepancies between SAP systems and reporting.
• Run CPI reports and monitor inventory metrics.
• Identify high-traffic zones and analyze root causes.
• Prepare monthly reports for location accuracy and completion.
• Audit precursor zones and report outcomes.
• Perform daily stock checks and manage stock movements.
• Investigate discrepancies with customer orders and verify system shorts.
• Verify lot numbers and expiry information for recalls.

The Opportunity:

Under moderate supervision, maintain proper inventory levels throughout the organization's product production cycle. Pull or replenish inventory to meet organizational needs. Maintain shipment and delivery schedules. Investigate and correct inventory discrepancies. Perform periodic inventory reviews, recording the quantity, type, and value of materials on hand.

How you will thrive and create an impact

• Continuous Physical Inventory (CPI)
• Conducts entire warehouse stock counts and ensures inventory accuracy.
• Maps the warehouse and creates ranges for analysis.
• Investigates discrepancies at physical inventory grid locations and reviews variances between SAP systems that reporting mechanisms may not have caught.
• Responsible for running CPI reports.
• Identifies high-traffic zones and analyzes root causes.
• Prepares monthly reports for Corporate (Location Accuracy, Dollar Accuracy, and Completion %).
• Audits precursor zone monthly and reports outcomes.
• Daily Stock Checks/ Stock Maintenance
• Investigates discrepancies with customers’ orders (shorts, overages, and wrong product shipments).
• Runs daily reports to review.
• Runs the Shorted Order Report daily to collect system shorts and validate system accuracy regarding reasons for shorts.
• Verifies product lot numbers and dating information for internal Customers.
• Provides quality assurance (QA) info on product lot numbers and expiry information for product recalls.
• Moves inventory stock upon request (both physically and in SAP system).
• Manages monthly batch conversions verification and monthly monitoring of new batch-controlled items added to the system; verifies load to SAP.
• Responsible for monthly inventory counts of dated items with life codes in SAP (DWO), validate, rotate, and report.
• Analyzes data and physical grid locations to ensure expired products have been removed from inventory and placed in non-conforming zones. Reports high-dollar losses.
• Warehouse Short Investigations
• Logs shorts that require further investigation.
• Run a weekly review of non-conforming inventory and hold or release inventory zones as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$45,000.00 - $72,450.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
