Job summary

National DCP, LLC in Lockport, IL is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist for our distribution center. You will perform daily cycle counts across multiple temperature zones, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure timely system transactions.

This role requires experience with warehouse management systems, ERP, SAP, and RF scanning, plus Excel proficiency. Training will be 4–6 weeks, and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in an inventory/materials role preferred.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management and ERP Systems, Manhattan TLM/WM SAP preferred.
  • Basic computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Basic leadership skills with the willingness to learn, improve, and adapt.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in mathematics.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Experienced in using an RF gun preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cycle count activities in accordance with NDCP procedures.
  • Identify and correct inventory discrepancies at the location level.
  • Prepare reports using Manhattan, SAP, and Excel, and present findings to Management.
  • Work with key personnel to implement process improvements to accuracy and productivity.
  • Check in daily returns, RARs, damages, and overages.
  • Verify the code-dated product rotation.
  • Provide troubleshooting and recommendations on inventory systems hardware (RF scanners, handheld devices).
  • Move pallets with forklift or powered jacks.
  • Participate on project teams as needed.

Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist - Distribution Center Warehouse – National DCP

Location

Full-time | Shift: Day

Scheduled workdays: Sunday through Thursday, 7 am - 3:30 pm

Initial Training schedule

Monday through Friday: 7am - 3:30 pm

Training approximately 4-6 weeks

Compensation

Hourly rate + bonus potential

Position Overview

Perform cycle counts within all areas of the warehouse as well as compile and report all findings to the management team, working in a multi-temp (freezer, cooler, Dry) Distribution Center.

Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels.

Ensure transactions in the system are accurately and timely executed.

Ensure Inventory Adjustments are documented, accurately and timely posted. Collaborate with Operational Teams to ensure compliance and best practice procedures are adhered to.

Responsibilities
What you’ll do
  • Perform daily cycle count activities in accordance with NDCP procedures.
  • Identify and properly correct inventory discrepancies at the location level as needed, including count, location, hidden damages, etc.
  • Prepare reports using Manhattan, SAP, and Excel, and present findings to Management.
  • Work with key personnel to identify and effectively implement process improvements to operational procedures to proactively optimize overall location and item-level accuracy and maintain the highest possible productivity levels.
  • Check in daily returns, RAR’s, damages, and overages.
  • Verify the code-dated product is rotated properly.
  • Provide as needed troubleshooting, analysis, and recommendations on inventory systems hardware (RF scanners, mobile hand‑held computer/scanners, vehicle-mounted data terminals).
  • Move pallets with forklift or powered jacks.
  • Participate on project teams as needed.
Supervision Exercised

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard and to view a computer screen for extended periods.
  • Ability to walk, lift, tug, pull up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Ability to work within a Distribution Center with a variety of temperatures, including Freezer and cooler environments.
