Job summary

Safelite Group is seeking a Manager of Inventory Control to lead enterprise-wide inventory control activities, ensuring accuracy, financial integrity, and compliance. You will partner with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, and IT to drive governance and continuous improvement.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in inventory control or related fields, with advanced Excel and leadership experience. Remote work is supported with travel to Safelite locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting/finance/SCM/business admin.
• 5+ years in inventory control, finance, or related fields.
• Must have inventory control leadership experience.
• Advanced Excel proficiency required.
• Oracle Fusion and WMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop inventory control associates and accounting processes.
• Oversee reconciliation, variance investigations, and cycle counts.
• Partner with Finance on inventory close and reconciliations.
• Prepare entries and review general ledger reconciliations.
• Provide expertise in inventory control initiatives across functions.
• Monitor inventory accuracy metrics and compliance standards.
• Distribute inventory control reports to leadership for decisions.
• Lead root-cause analyses to address discrepancies and strengthen controls.
• Support audits and system implementations to meet control requirements.

A Brief Overview

The Manager, Inventory Control is responsible for leading and optimizing enterprise-wide inventory control activities to ensure inventory accuracy, financial integrity, and operational compliance. This role provides oversight of inventory reconciliation, financial reporting, process improvement initiatives, and system controls while fostering cross-functional collaboration across Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Information Technology. The position serves as a key partner in supporting effective inventory governance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across the organization.

What you will do

• Lead, manage, and develop inventory control associates and inventory accounting processes
• Oversee inventory reconciliation activities, variance investigations, and cycle count programs to ensure timely issue resolution and inventory accuracy.
• Partner with all Finance departments on inventory close requirements and reconciliations.
• Prepare accounting entries and review/approve general ledger reconciliations to support accurate financial reporting and compliance
• Provide expertise and actively participate in all inventory control related company initiatives.
• Monitor inventory accuracy metrics and compliance standards. Identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Develop and distribute inventory control reporting delivering meaningful insights to leadership while supporting operational and financial decision making.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action initiatives to address inventory discrepancies and strengthen internal controls.
• Support audits and system implementations ensuring adherence to control requirements and successful execution of business objectives

What you will need

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of progressive experience in Inventory Control, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Distribution, or related disciplines.
• Inventory control leadership experience Required
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
• Oracle Fusion and Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience preferred

Expected Work Location (Remote)

It is expected that you will primarily perform work remotely.
