Job summary

Bio-Techne Corp. is seeking an Inventory Control Coordinator to maintain precise inventory records and support ERP-driven processes in a warehouse and production setting.

You will collaborate with multiple teams to resolve discrepancies, perform cycle counts, and ensure data integrity while upholding FIFO/FEFO protocols and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and 2-4 years of relevant experience; or an associate degree preferred and up to 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles, material flow, and warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency with ERP and warehouse management systems; strong data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through timely ERP transactions.
  • Pick and stage materials for production orders and internal requests.
  • Post receipts for incoming raw materials and finished goods from suppliers.
  • Perform cycle counts and support annual physical inventory activities.
  • Investigate inventory variances and ensure FIFO/FEFO compliance.

Job description

Pay Range: $18.40 - $25.30

Position Summary:

The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the effective management of inventoried materials within the warehouse and production environment. This position supports receiving, inventory control, cycle counting, inventory transactions, material movements, and inventory accuracy initiatives. The role works closely with Warehouse, Production, Quality, Planning, and Procurement teams to resolve inventory discrepancies, maintain ERP data integrity, and support continuous improvement of inventory control processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through timely and accurate ERP transactions.
  • Pick and stage materials for production orders and internal customer requests.
  • Post receipts for incoming raw materials and finished goods received from suppliers.
  • Perform inventory put-away activities and ensure materials are stored in designated inventory locations.
  • Create and process ERP transactions and inventory journals related to material movements, adjustments, transfers, and scrap.
  • Create, maintain, and modify inventory locations in both physical storage areas and ERP systems.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and investigate inventory variances, shortages, overages, and transaction discrepancies.
  • Perform cycle counts according to established schedules and support annual physical inventory activities.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies through transaction reviews and root cause analysis.
  • Support inventory audits by maintaining accurate documentation and inventory records.
  • Verify inventory quality by inspecting labels, quantities, item numbers, lot numbers, batch information, and storage conditions.
  • Maintain inventory traceability and compliance with FIFO/FEFO requirements where applicable.
  • Consolidate materials and optimize warehouse storage locations to maximize space utilization.
  • Support scrap reporting, inventory adjustments, and disposition processes.
  • Pull, load, transport, and unload inventory throughout warehouse and production areas as required.
  • Track and communicate inventory control metrics including cycle count accuracy, inventory adjustments, and location accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation of inventory control best practices.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and compliant inventory storage areas.
  • Complete required company and departmental training.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:

Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and 2-4 years of relevant experience; or an associate degree preferred and up to 2 years of relevant experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize ERP and warehouse management systems.
  • Basic mathematical and data analysis skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across warehouse, production, quality, planning, and procurement teams.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt to change, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to teamwork.
  • Ability to become certified and safely operate powered pallet jacks and forklifts, if required.
Working Conditions:

Ability to work hours that conform to standard business operations (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.)

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and material handling.
  • Ability to work in cooler and freezer environments for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment as required.
