Position Summary

The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records across raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-process, and finished goods. This position ensures that physical inventory matches the company’s inventory system by monitoring inventory movements, completing cycle counts, correcting transaction issues, and investigating discrepancies. The Inventory Control Coordinator works closely with Production, Shipping, Receiving, Quality, Purchasing, and SIOP to ensure materials are accurately identified, properly stored, and available when needed. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized individual who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment and solving inventory and process-related issues.

What You’ll Do

Inventory Accuracy and Control

• Maintain accurate inventory balances for raw materials, packaging materials, workinprocess, and finished goods.
• Perform routine cycle counts based on established daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
• Compare physical inventory against electronic inventory records and investigate discrepancies.
• Research inventory variances by reviewing production records, material movements, receiving documents, shipping activity, and ERP transactions.
• Prepare inventory adjustments with proper documentation and required management approval.
• Assist with monthend, yearend, and other full physical inventories.
• Track inventory accuracy and report recurring issues or areas of concern.

ERP and Transaction Management

• Enter and verify inventory movements in electronic systems accurately and promptly.
• Confirm that production batches consume the correct raw material quantities and lot numbers.
• Verify finishedgoods production quantities, lot numbers, locations, and inventory status.
• Correct or coordinate the correction of missed, late, or inaccurate inventory transactions.
• Maintain accurate warehouse and productionlocation records.
• Use computer and ERP systems to research, enter, and maintain inventory information.

Material and Lot Control

• Verify that all materials are properly identified and labeled.
• Maintain lot traceability from receiving through production and shipment.
• Monitor inventory under Quality Control hold and ensure held materials are properly identified and segregated.
• Coordinate approved inventory status changes with Quality.
• Identify aging, slowmoving, obsolete, damaged, or unidentified inventory.
• Assist management in determining the proper disposition of unusable or obsolete materials.
• Monitor material expiration dates and shelflife requirements when applicable.

Reporting and Continuous Improvement

• Maintain inventory accuracy reports and cyclecount records.
• Report inventory variances, unresolved discrepancies, and corrective actions.
• Identify recurring inventorycontrol problems and recommend process improvements.
• Help develop and maintain standard procedures for receiving, material movement, production reporting, cycle counting, and inventory adjustments.
• Support 5S and plantorganization activities related to inventory storage and identification.
• Participate in daily production or planning meetings when inventory information is needed.
• Assist with internal, customer, and regulatory audits involving inventory records or lot traceability.

Receiving, Production, and Shipping Support

• Work with Production to resolve materialconsumption and productionreporting discrepancies.
• Work with Shipping to investigate finishedgoods shortages, incorrect locations, and shipment discrepancies.
• Support material staging by confirming availability, quantity, lot, and location.
• Communicate inventory shortages and discrepancies to SIOP, Production, Purchasing, and other affected departments.
• Assist with inventory transfers between buildings, warehouses, departments, and production areas.
• Provide support to other departments as needed to maintain efficient plant operations.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

This position is performed onsite in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. The Inventory Control Coordinator may regularly work throughout production, warehouse, receiving, shipping, and storage areas.

The position may require:

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Bending, reaching, climbing, and working in various areas of the facility.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials as required.
• Performing physical inventory counts and inspecting materials.
• Working around manufacturing equipment and materials.
• Following required PPE and safety procedures.
• Working occasional weekends as needed for inventory counts, operational needs, or other business requirements.
