Position Summary
As a nationally accredited program with a strong educational component within The University of New Mexico School of Medicine, the Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI) investigates deaths occurring throughout the State of New Mexico that are sudden, violent, untimely, unexpected, or where an individual is found deceased and the cause of death is unknown. OMI, a special program within the Department of Pathology, determines the cause and manner of death and provides formal death certification.
The Office of the Medical Investigator is seeking an Inventory Control Coordinator to join our team. This position plays a critical role in supporting daily operations by maintaining accurate inventory records, receiving and distributing supplies, managing inventory control systems, and ensuring essential materials are available to support OMI’s mission. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, organized, and committed to accuracy and follow-through.
The successful candidate will have experience working with inventory systems, data entry, receiving processes, and administrative documentation. The successful candidate must be comfortable performing hands-on inventory duties in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
The Inventory Control Coordinator must also be able to work in an environment where exposure to graphic sights, strong odors, and sensitive circumstances related to forensic investigations may occur. Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to work effectively in an emotionally challenging environment are essential.
OMI is a 24/7 operation. This position may require work on weekends, holidays, and nontraditional schedules to support the needs of the facility.
